How a Flanged Y Strainer Works
Process flow passes through the internal cylindrical straining element, which retains debris before it can reach downstream equipment. The Y-shaped body provides a collection area for solids and access to the straining element for inspection and cleaning.
Titan provides inlet and outlet gauge taps on this series so differential pressure can be monitored as the screen loads. Routine inspection and cleaning help maintain system flow and limit excessive pressure loss.
Straining Element Options
For standard water service, published configurations use 1/16" perforation on sizes 1/2" through 4" and 1/8" perforation on sizes 5" through 12". Titan also offers stocked mesh and alternate perforation selections in Type 304 stainless steel. If your application requires a specific filtration opening, contact GetPipe.com before ordering so the required configuration can be confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Titan YS61-CS?
The YS61-CS is an ASTM A216 Grade WCB carbon steel, raised-face flanged Y strainer with an ASME Class 150 rating.
What is the pressure rating?
Titan rates the YS61-CS at 285 psi WOG non-shock at 100°F.
What is the standard water perforation?
Published standard water configurations use 1/16" perforation through 4" and 1/8" perforation from 5" through 12".
Can other screen sizes be ordered?
Yes. Titan offers multiple stocked mesh and perforation selections. Contact GetPipe.com for non-standard filtration requirements.
Why are gauge taps provided?
Gauge taps allow inlet and outlet pressure to be monitored so differential pressure across the straining element can be evaluated as debris accumulates.
