Construction Details

The Type DP dust plug features an aluminum body with a male cam & groove adapter profile and a closed opposite end.

The male adapter inserts into a compatible female cam & groove coupler. The cam arms located on the mating female coupler close around the plug to secure it in position.

Unlike through-flow Type A through Type F camlock fittings, the Type DP is a closed-end component intended to plug an unused female camlock connection rather than provide a flow path between two connections.

Connection Configuration

Male Camlock Adapter

The male cam & groove end inserts into a compatible female camlock coupler of the appropriate nominal size.

Closed Dust Plug

The opposite end is closed rather than threaded or equipped with a hose shank, allowing the component to plug an unused female camlock connection.

How a Type DP Dust Plug Works

To install the dust plug, open the cam arms on the compatible female camlock coupler and insert the Type DP male adapter into the coupler.

Close both cam arms using normal hand pressure to secure the dust plug inside the female coupler.

To remove the plug, make sure the system is safely depressurized, raise both cam arms, and remove the Type DP plug from the female coupler.

Type DP vs. Type DC

Type DP Dust Plug

Male Camlock x Closed End

Type DP inserts into a compatible female camlock coupler. The cam arms on the female coupler secure the dust plug in position.

Type DC Dust Cap

Female Camlock x Closed End

Type DC fits over a compatible male camlock adapter and includes cam arms that secure the dust cap to the mating adapter.

Common Applications

Hose & Transfer Equipment

  • Transfer hose assemblies
  • Pump connections
  • Tank connections
  • Irrigation equipment
  • Agricultural transfer equipment
  • Portable fluid-transfer systems

Industrial & General Fluid Handling

  • General camlock connection protection

Installation & Selection Considerations

  • Confirm the female camlock coupler size before selecting the Type DP dust plug.
  • Match the male dust plug with a compatible female cam & groove coupler.
  • Inspect the plug, mating gasket, cam arms, and cam-arm pins before use.
  • Do not treat a dust plug as a substitute for a valve or other pressure-isolation device.
  • Verify aluminum and service-media compatibility for the application.
