5" Aluminum Type DP Dust Plug

The 500-DP-AL is designed to close a compatible 5" female cam and groove coupler when the connection is disconnected. The plug helps protect the open coupling from dirt, debris, and other contaminants during storage or downtime.

The Type DP configuration provides a removable closure without adding another threaded connection. The mating coupler's cam arms secure around the plug during installation.

Dixon manufactures the 500-DP-AL from 356T6 aluminum. The metal construction provides a durable protective component for compatible Dixon cam and groove coupling assemblies.

Inspect the plug before installation for damage, contamination, or excessive wear. The mating coupler should also be checked so the plug can seat and engage correctly.

Dixon states that no standard exists for 5" cam and groove fittings and that these fittings generally do not interchange with other manufacturers. Compatibility should therefore be confirmed before ordering or installation.

Verify that the mating 5" female coupler is appropriate for the Dixon 500-DP-AL. Do not assume that nominal size alone guarantees proper fit between different manufacturers.

Dixon specifies that dust caps and dust plugs are not to be used in pressure applications for safety and environmental reasons. The 500-DP-AL should be treated as a protective closure rather than a pressure-retaining component.

Confirm that the system is safely isolated before installing or removing the dust plug. Use a properly rated component whenever the application requires pressure containment.
