Construction Details
The Type DP fitting features a durable brass dust-plug body with a male cam & groove profile designed to insert into a compatible female camlock coupler.
Once the dust plug is inserted into the female coupler, the cam arms on the coupler are closed to secure the plug in position. This helps cover the open connection while the hose, piping, tank, pump, or other equipment is disconnected.
Unlike standard cam & groove adapters, the Type DP does not provide a secondary hose or threaded connection. Its purpose is to close and protect an unused female camlock connection.

The male cam & groove profile inserts into a compatible female camlock coupler of the appropriate nominal size.
Mating Female Coupler
The cam arms on the female coupler close around the Type DP plug and hold it securely in position until the connection is needed again.
How a Type DP Dust Plug Works
With the system safely depressurized and disconnected, open the cam arms on the compatible female cam & groove coupler.
Insert the Type DP male dust plug into the female coupler and close both cam arms using normal hand pressure. The cam arms secure the plug inside the coupler and help protect the open connection from dirt and debris.
When the connection is needed again, open the cam arms and remove the Type DP dust plug before installing the appropriate male cam & groove adapter.
