Construction Details
The Type DC fitting features a durable brass dust-cap body with a female cam & groove connection and operating cam arms.
The cap fits over a compatible male camlock adapter. Closing the cam arms secures the dust cap onto the adapter, helping cover the exposed connection while equipment, piping, tanks, or hose assemblies are disconnected.
Unlike Type B, C, and D couplers, a Type DC dust cap does not provide a secondary hose or threaded connection. Its purpose is to close and protect the male camlock end when the connection is not being used.

The female cam & groove opening fits over a compatible male camlock adapter of the appropriate nominal size.
Cam Arms
The cam arms close around the male adapter and hold the dust cap in position. Opening the arms allows the cap to be quickly removed when the connection is needed.
How a Type DC Dust Cap Works
With the system safely depressurized and the male camlock adapter disconnected, open both cam arms on the Type DC dust cap.
Place the female dust cap over the compatible male cam & groove adapter and close both cam arms using normal hand pressure. This secures the cap over the exposed adapter.
When the connection is needed again, open the cam arms and remove the dust cap before attaching the appropriate female cam & groove coupler.
