Construction Details
The Type DC fitting features a durable iron dust-cap body with a female cam & groove coupler connection and operating cam arms.
The female opening fits over a compatible male camlock adapter. Closing the cam arms secures the dust cap onto the adapter, helping protect the exposed connection while the hose, piping, pump, tank, or other equipment is disconnected.
Unlike Type B, Type C, and Type D couplers, the Type DC dust cap does not provide a secondary threaded or hose connection. Its primary purpose is to cover and protect an unused male camlock adapter.

The female cam & groove opening fits over a compatible male camlock adapter of the appropriate nominal size.
Cam Arms
The cam arms close around the male adapter and hold the Type DC dust cap in position. Opening the arms allows the cap to be quickly removed when the connection is needed again.
How a Type DC Dust Cap Works
With the system safely depressurized and disconnected, open the cam arms on the Type DC dust cap.
Place the female dust cap over the compatible male cam & groove adapter and close the cam arms using normal hand pressure. This secures the dust cap over the exposed adapter.
When the connection is needed again, open the cam arms and remove the Type DC dust cap before attaching the appropriate female cam & groove coupler.
