Choose the Correct Fit
Match the foam version to the drawer model. Check tool height above the proposed recess so the loaded drawer can close freely.
Lay out all tools before tracing, leaving space for fingers and adequate foam between cavities. Work on a protected cutting surface outside the drawer.
Installation & Care
Cut carefully to the intended depth and peel layers gradually. Keep hands clear of the blade and avoid cutting through the supporting base layer.
Test the fit before returning the drawer to service. Remove loose foam and inspect cutouts after use; a damaged insert may no longer retain tools well.

Important Product Questions
Which drawer boxes can use this insert?
It is specified for 48-22-8442, 48-22-8443, 48-22-8444 and the 48-22-8447 Multi-Depth 3-Drawer Tool Box.
How do I make a tool recess?
Trace the tool, cut its outline to the required depth with a knife, then peel out layers. Test gradually so the recess does not become too loose.
Does the foam increase the drawer’s load limit?
No. The foam organizes and cushions stored tools. The drawer box and supporting system retain their original load limits.
