5" Type C Aluminum Cam & Groove Coupler

The 500-C-AL combines a female cam and groove coupler with a hose shank in a straight Type C configuration. This arrangement allows a compatible male cam and groove adapter to connect directly with a hose assembly.

Connection is made by inserting the mating adapter into the coupler and pressing both cam levers downward by hand. Lifting the cam arms releases the adapter for disconnection.

Dixon manufactures the 500-C-AL from 356T6 aluminum and precision machines the coupling to controlled tolerances. Stainless steel cam-arm pins provide durable pivot points that resist rusting and binding.

The coupler is also supplied with safety clips for the cam arms. Inspect the body, cam arms, pins, and safety components before placing the coupling into service.

A nitrile rubber gasket is supplied standard and is retained within a recessed area designed to maintain proper gasket placement. Dixon offers other gasket materials when different service compatibility is required.

The long hose shank is designed to allow proper banding and help reduce hose damage associated with incorrect clamp placement. Hose and attachment method should be selected for the intended service.

Dixon rates the 500-C-AL for a maximum operating pressure of 75 PSI under its stated conditions and designs the coupling for liquid service. Cam and groove couplings must not be used for compressed air or steam service.

Dixon states that no standard exists for 5" cam and groove fittings and they generally do not interchange with other manufacturers. Confirm mating-component compatibility before ordering or installation.
