Set the strip length to the connector’s requirement and test on a spare end. Inspect the exposed conductor before installing the terminal.

Important Product Questions
Can I use a solid-wire setting on stranded wire?
Use the setting expressly marked for the conductor construction and gauge. The same AWG designation does not justify interchanging solid- and stranded-wire openings.
How much insulation should I remove?
Use the terminal or connector manufacturer’s required strip length. Test the setting, then check that no conductor is nicked and no unwanted bare wire remains exposed.
Does a crimp function cover every connector?
Match the terminal type and gauge to the tool’s crimp profile and follow the connector maker’s requirements. A general crimp function does not establish compatibility with every connector.
