Choose the Correct Fit
Confirm the required SAE thread and workpiece thickness before drilling. Clamp the material securely.
Secure the hex shank in a compatible tool. Keep the bit perpendicular to the surface as cutting begins.
Installation & Care
Follow appropriate tapping practice for the material, including lubrication and chip clearing. Avoid forcing a binding tap.
Stop before withdrawing a damaged or jammed bit. Clean chips from the completed thread and inspect it before assembly.

Important Product Questions
Can I use these for a metric threaded hole?
Choose the exact thread system and pitch required by the mating fastener. An SAE thread is not interchangeable with a nearby metric thread.
Can I use them through thicker metal?
The stated metal capacity is up to 1/4 inch. Choose a process and tooling rated for the actual thickness when it exceeds that limit.
What if the tap starts binding?
Stop rather than increasing force. Check alignment, lubrication and chip accumulation before proceeding; forcing a tap can damage the thread or break the bit.
