Description
Harris ER317L Stainless Steel TIG Welding Rod
Harris ER317L stainless steel TIG welding rod is a highly alloyed molybdenum-bearing filler metal designed for GTAW / TIG welding of stainless steels requiring increased resistance to severe corrosive environments. The low-carbon ER317L composition helps resist carbide precipitation and is particularly suited for chemical processing, paper-industry, offshore, power-generation and other corrosion-resistant fabrication applications.
Select the required rod diameter from the product options above. All available variations are 36" long and supplied in 10 lb Boxes. The selected variation determines the Harris item number, selling price and cost.

Why Choose ER317L TIG Welding Rod?
Enhanced Corrosion Resistance
ER317L contains higher alloy content than ER316, particularly molybdenum, making it suitable for stainless applications requiring increased resistance to aggressive corrosive environments.
Low-Carbon Composition
The low-carbon composition helps reduce carbide precipitation and supports resistance to intergranular corrosion in appropriate stainless steel welding applications.
Product Selection Considerations
Rod Diameter
Select the rod diameter appropriate for base-metal thickness, joint design, welding position, amperage range and the applicable welding procedure.
Base-Metal Compatibility
Confirm ER317L filler-metal compatibility with the stainless alloy being welded, service environment and applicable code or engineering specification.
