The B54G-P150 is the borosilicate glass insert used as the transparent viewing section in compatible 1-1/2" Dixon B54BMP-series in-line sight glass assemblies.

It is intended as a replacement component when an existing glass insert requires replacement because of damage, wear, maintenance, or scheduled servicing.

This part is the glass insert only and should not be confused with the complete in-line sight glass assembly.

B54G-P150 is manufactured from borosilicate glass. Dixon identifies borosilicate glass as the standard sight-glass material for compatible B54BMP-series assemblies unless the polycarbonate configuration is specified.

The transparent insert provides a viewing section through the process line, allowing operators to visually observe product flow, color, clarity, and other process conditions while the sight glass remains installed.

Material suitability should always be confirmed for the actual process media, operating temperature, pressure, cleaning chemistry, sanitation procedures, and surrounding environment.

Before ordering B54G-P150, confirm that the existing assembly is a compatible 1-1/2" Dixon B54BMP-series in-line sight glass and that a borosilicate glass insert is required.

Dixon uses different replacement insert part numbers for each sight glass size. B54G-P150 is specifically identified for the 1-1/2" configuration, while B54BMP-LX150 is the corresponding polycarbonate insert.

Also inspect the seals and other assembly components during service. Dixon lists B54BMP-SK150 as the nitrile rubber seal kit, B54BMP-EK150 as the EPDM seal kit, and B54BMP-VK150 as the FKM seal kit for the compatible 1-1/2" assembly.

Before servicing the sight glass, fully isolate the process line and confirm that the system has been safely depressurized, drained, and brought to a safe temperature according to applicable facility procedures.

Inspect the replacement glass before installation. Do not install glass with chips, cracks, scratches, impact damage, or other defects that could affect safe operation.

Inspect mating components and seals during disassembly and replace worn or damaged components as required. Use only gasket materials compatible with the process media, temperature, cleaning chemicals, and operating conditions.

During reassembly, ensure the glass and sealing components are properly positioned and avoid uneven mechanical loading on the glass. Follow the applicable Dixon installation and maintenance instructions for the complete sight glass assembly.

After reassembly, inspect the installation and verify leak-free operation under appropriate conditions before returning the process line to normal service.
