Shurjoint Model 79 Wildcat Couplings
The Shurjoint Model 79 Wildcat Coupling is designed to mechanically join plain-end or beveled-end carbon steel pipe without grooving, welding, or threading. Featuring case-hardened gripping jaws and heavy-duty heat-treated track bolts, the Wildcat coupling provides a secure, dependable connection for demanding industrial piping systems.
Model 79 Wildcat couplings are commonly used in mining operations, oilfield services, manifold piping, temporary piping systems, process piping, water transfer applications, and industrial construction projects. The coupling's unique jaw design securely grips the pipe surface while a pressure-responsive C-shaped gasket creates a reliable leak-tight seal.

Model 79 Wildcat couplings are recommended for use on carbon steel pipe with a hardness below HB150. Not recommended for stainless steel, HDPE, PVC, cast iron, or other brittle piping materials.
The Shurjoint Model 79 Wildcat Coupling utilizes a pressure-responsive EPDM gasket to create a dependable leak-tight seal. Replacement Grade E EPDM gaskets are available in sizes 2" through 8" for maintenance and repair applications.
