Choose the Correct Fit
Confirm the pipe thread size and pitch before starting. Choose a holder or wrench that properly engages the actual die body.
NPT identifies the pipe-thread form rather than the outside size of the hex body. Match the cutting profile to the intended connection.
Installation & Care
Secure the work and start the die squarely with its marked starting face toward the work. Use cutting fluid for best results.
Clear chips with the work stopped and inspect the cutting edges after use. Clean and protect the die before storing it dry.

Important Product Questions
Can it repair an existing pipe thread?
Yes, it is designed for both creating and repairing external threads. Match the thread form and pitch before engaging the die.
Does it cut the inside of a fitting?
No. This die works on external threads. An internal-thread operation requires an appropriate tap instead.
Can I choose the holder from the thread size alone?
No. The pipe-thread designation does not specify the die body width. Check the actual hex body against the holder or wrench before use.
