Will it cut an internal thread?

This die cuts or repairs external threads. An internal threaded hole requires a suitable tap rather than this hex die.

Which holder should I choose?

A 1 in hex body fits the Hex-LOK 2-in-1 handle or a matching standard die stock.

Can I substitute a nearby thread size?

Use the specified 10-32 NF form. A similar diameter with a different pitch will not correctly mate. Verify the thread before cutting.
