Description
Grooved Standard Radius Tee
ARGCO’s Model 301 Grooved Standard Radius Tee is a durable, full-radius fitting designed to connect three sections of pipe while maintaining smoother flow characteristics compared to short radius designs. Its geometry allows for improved fluid transition and reduced turbulence in piping systems.
Designed for carbon steel piping systems (Schedule 10 and Schedule 40), this fitting provides a rigid joint that restricts axial and angular movement, ensuring system stability in fire protection and general service applications.
Key Features
- Standard radius tee for smoother flow and reduced turbulence
- Rigid grooved connection restricts axial and angular movement
- Maximum working pressure up to 300 psi (20 bar)
- Compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe
- Available in nominal sizes 1-1/4" through 12"
- Ductile iron construction per ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12
- Standard orange enamel coating
- Optional hot dipped galvanized finish available
- UL, ULC, and FM listed/approved
Typical Applications
Ideal for fire protection systems, including sprinkler and standpipe installations, as well as general piping systems where improved flow characteristics are desired. Commonly used in layouts where minimizing turbulence and pressure loss is beneficial.
Construction Details
Manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12, ensuring high strength and durability. The standard finish is orange enamel, with optional hot dipped galvanizing available for enhanced corrosion resistance.
Designed for use with roll or cut grooved carbon steel pipe, this fitting provides a rigid, dependable connection suitable for demanding piping systems.
Important Notes
Working pressure ratings are based on standard weight (ANSI) steel pipe grooved in accordance with ARGCO specifications. These fittings are rigid and will not accommodate expansion or contraction of the piping system. Always follow ARGCO installation instructions and applicable codes.
