Description
Galvanized Grooved Cross – Short Radius
ARGCO’s Model 401 grooved short radius cross is designed to join four sections of carbon steel pipe in a compact configuration. This fitting provides a rigid connection that restricts axial and angular movement, making it ideal for systems requiring stability and structural integrity.
Available in sizes from 2" through 12", the Model 401 is compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe and is rated for working pressures up to 300 psi (20 bar). Standard finish is hot dipped galvanized, with orange enamel available.
Key Features
- Short radius grooved cross for compact piping layouts
- Provides rigid joint to restrict axial and angular movement
- Joins four sections of carbon steel pipe
- Compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 pipe
- Available in sizes 2" through 12" (50 through 300 mm)
- Maximum working pressure up to 300 psi / 20 bar
- Ductile iron construction per ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12
- Hot dipped galvanized standard coating
- Optional orange enamel finish available
- UL, ULC, and FM listed/approved
Typical Applications
Used in fire protection, water distribution, and industrial piping systems where a four-way connection is required in a compact footprint. Ideal for layouts requiring rigid joints to maintain alignment and minimize movement.
Construction Details
Housing is manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12, providing strength and durability in demanding applications.
Standard coating is hot dipped galvanized for corrosion resistance. Orange enamel coating is available upon request for visibility or project-specific requirements.
Designed for use with standard roll or cut grooved pipe in accordance with ARGCO specifications.
Important Notes
Working pressure and end load ratings are based on standard weight (ANSI) steel pipe with roll or cut grooved ends per ARGCO specifications.
This fitting provides a rigid connection and is not intended to accommodate axial displacement or angular deflection.
For use with alternative pipe materials or wall thicknesses, consult ARGCO technical support.
