Description

CarbonPress® Carbon Steel Press Union

CarbonPress® Carbon Steel Press Unions provide a removable connection between two sections of compatible carbon steel press piping. The union design allows the piping connection to be separated for service, maintenance, or equipment replacement without cutting the adjoining pipe.

CarbonPress® is a 1/2" through 2" carbon steel press fitting system suitable for use with black iron, epoxy-coated, and galvanized Schedule 10 through Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe. When pressed, an internal grab ring grips the outside diameter of the pipe while an elastomeric sealing element creates a leak-tight seal.

CarbonPress® fittings can be installed using Milwaukee or RIDGID press tools with the associated jaws or rings designed for carbon steel applications.

CarbonPress® Connection Technology

When the press connections are installed, a grab ring deforms and its sharp edges grip the outside diameter of the pipe, securing the fitting axially and helping prevent movement.

At the same time, an elastomeric sealing element impinges on the pipe to create a leak-tight connection.

Press Union Design

The union configuration provides a removable connection between two press-connected pipe sections. Once the press ends are installed, the center union connection can be separated when access is required for maintenance, service, or equipment replacement.

Leak Before Press Technology

CarbonPress® fittings incorporate Leak Before Press (LBP) Technology, helping identify connections that have not been properly pressed during system testing.

EPDM & HNBR Seal Options

  • EPDM: -40°F to 300°F (-40°C to 148°C)
  • HNBR: -40°F to 200°F (-40°C to 93°C)

Select the sealing element appropriate for the intended system and application.
