Description

Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly
Quarter-turn shutoffs · Bronze strainer · Flood sensor
This Watts assembly helps prevent polluted water from entering the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is designed for continuous-pressure piping applications and health-hazard cross-connections, subject to the applicable plumbing code and water authority requirements.
A compact modular body, single access cover, and replaceable check seats simplify access for in-line maintenance.

Product Highlights
- Lead free copper silicon alloy body
- Bronze strainer supplied with the assembly
- Female NPT end connections
- Quarter-turn full-port, resilient-seated ball valve shutoffs
- Two independent in-line check valves with captured springs
- Replaceable check seats and internal relief valve
- Top-mounted test cocks
- Single access cover and modular checks for in-line maintenance
Compact, Serviceable Construction
Two independent check valves work with an intermediate relief valve to provide reduced pressure zone protection. Captured springs and replaceable check seats support servicing through the single access cover.
Quarter-turn shutoffs provide isolation, while top-mounted test cocks provide access for testing. The internal relief valve helps reduce required installation clearances.
Available nominal sizes
SentryPlus Alert® Flood Detection
The included sensor detects excessive discharge from the relief valve. An add-on sensor connection kit is required to enable alerts. BMS and cellular communication kits are available; confirm compatibility and the required connection kit before ordering.
The sensor provides monitoring of potential flooding; it does not replace the assembly’s mechanical backflow protection.

Product Questions
What does this RPZ assembly do?
It helps protect the potable water supply against backflow caused by backsiphonage or backpressure at approved health-hazard cross-connections.
Which sizes are listed?
This listing offers 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" nominal sizes. Select the required size and confirm its model and dimensions before ordering.
Does it include a strainer?
Yes. The described configuration is furnished with a bronze strainer.
Does the included flood sensor send alerts by itself?
No. An add-on sensor connection kit is required to activate communication. Without the kit, the sensor does not send alerts to another device.
What connection kit options are available?
BMS and cellular communication kits are available. Confirm kit compatibility with the selected assembly and the required monitoring system.
What are the pressure and temperature limits?
The supplied submittal lists a maximum supply pressure of 175 psi and a water temperature range of 33°F to 180°F for the copper silicon alloy sizes covered by this listing.
Can internal components be serviced in line?
The single access cover and modular check construction provide access for in-line maintenance. Follow the applicable installation, maintenance, and testing instructions.
