Description
Grooved End of Run Reducing Elbow (ADACAP)
ARGCO’s Model 203A Grooved End of Run Reducing Elbow (ADACAP) is a ductile iron 90° grooved-end elbow with base support, designed for installation at the bottom of a riser system. Its integrated support base allows an anchor to be used in conjunction with the fitting to help support the weight of the pipe, coupling, and fluid.
Designed for carbon steel piping systems (Schedule 10 and Schedule 40), this fitting transitions from grooved pipe to threaded connection, making it ideal for fire protection and related piping applications where a compact end-of-run reducing elbow is required.
Key Features
- 90° grooved-end reducing elbow with integral base support
- Designed for installation at the bottom of a riser system
- Transitions from grooved carbon steel pipe to threaded outlet
- Maximum working pressure up to 300 psi (20 bar)
- Compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe
- Available in multiple reducing size combinations from 1-1/4" x 1/2" through 3" x 1"
- Threaded outlet options include NPT/BSP sizes from 1/2" to 1"
- Ductile iron construction per ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12
- Standard orange enamel coating with optional hot dipped galvanized finish
- UL, ULC, and FM listed/approved
Typical Applications
Ideal for fire protection riser systems and similar piping layouts where an end-of-run elbow with threaded reduction is needed. Commonly used where structural support at the base of the riser is important and a reliable grooved-to-threaded transition is required.
Construction Details
Manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12, providing durability and long-term performance in demanding piping environments. The standard finish is orange enamel, with optional hot dipped galvanizing available for improved corrosion resistance.
The fitting combines a grooved inlet, threaded outlet, and base support in one compact body, helping simplify installation at the bottom of riser systems while maintaining a strong, dependable connection.
Important Notes
An anchor can be placed in conjunction with the base to support the weight of the pipe, coupling, and fluid. Always confirm thread type, outlet size, and application requirements before installation, and follow current ARGCO installation instructions and applicable code requirements.
