Clamp Tee Configuration

The B7MP-R800 uses a standard equal-size sanitary tee configuration with three 8" clamp connections. Both ends of the straight run and the 90-degree branch use the same 8" tube O.D. size.

This fitting allows an 8" branch line to connect perpendicular to an 8" main run without reducing the branch size.

All three ports use sanitary clamp-style ends, allowing the tee to be assembled with compatible mating fittings, gaskets, and clamps and removed when inspection, cleaning, maintenance, or system modification is required.

316L Stainless Steel Construction

The B7MP-R800 is manufactured from 316L stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant stainless steel grade commonly used in hygienic and sanitary process piping systems.

316L stainless steel is frequently selected for compatible food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, and industrial process applications where corrosion resistance, cleanability, and durable stainless steel construction are important.

Material suitability should always be confirmed for the actual process fluid, concentration, operating temperature, cleaning chemistry, sanitation procedures, and surrounding environment.

Sanitary Clamp Connections

8" Main Run

  • Two 8" sanitary clamp connections
  • Straight-through process flow path
  • Maintains 8" tube O.D. through the run
  • Removable clamp-style connections
  • Designed for compatible sanitary tubing systems

8" Branch

  • One 8" sanitary clamp branch connection
  • 90-degree branch from the main run
  • Same tube O.D. as the straight run
  • No size reduction at the branch
  • Suitable for equal-size process-line branching

Published Dimensions

Tube O.D. 8"
Current Catalog Dimension A 7.88"
Older Overall Run 15.750"
Older Center-to-End 7.875"

Dixon's current hygienic fittings catalog lists the 8" B7MP clamp tee with dimension A of 7.88". Earlier Dixon literature presents the horizontal run as 15.750" overall, corresponding to approximately 7.875" from the tee centerline to either end.

For fabrication, piping layout, equipment clearance, or installations where dimensional fit is critical, verify dimensions against the latest applicable Dixon drawing before installation.

  • Sanitary fluid-transfer systems
  • Process equipment connections
  • Large-diameter branch connections
  • Compatible data center cooling systems

Equal Tee vs. Reducing Tee

B7MP Equal Tee

The B7MP-R800 uses the same 8" tube O.D. size on both ends of the straight run and on the branch. It is intended where the branch line remains the same size as the main process line.

Reducing Tee

A reducing tee uses a smaller branch connection than the main run. If the branch line needs to transition to a smaller tube O.D., a compatible Dixon reducing tee should be selected instead.

Sanitary Fitting Selection

Dixon identifies B7MP-R800 as an 8" tube O.D. sanitary clamp tee. All three connections use the same 8" tube O.D. configuration.

Sanitary fitting sizes are based on tube outside diameter. Confirm the existing tube O.D. and mating sanitary connection geometry before ordering.

Also confirm that 316L stainless steel is appropriate for the process media, operating temperature, cleaning chemistry, sanitation requirements, and surrounding environment.

3-A Sanitary Information

Dixon's hygienic fittings documentation lists the B7MP Clamp Tee family under 3-A Sanitary Standard 63-04 and authorization number 621.

Application-specific sanitary, regulatory, certification, documentation, installation, and inspection requirements should still be confirmed for the complete process system.

Gasket & Clamp Selection

Sanitary Gaskets

  • Select compatible gaskets for all three 8" connections
  • Confirm sanitary connection geometry
  • Select gasket material for the process media
  • Verify operating-temperature compatibility
  • Confirm compatibility with cleaning chemicals
  • Inspect gaskets before assembly

Sanitary Clamps

  • Use compatible sanitary clamps at all three connections
  • Confirm mating connection geometry
  • Inspect clamps before installation
  • Align mating faces before tightening
  • Properly support connected tubing and equipment
  • Do not use clamps to force misaligned piping into position

Installation

Before installation, confirm the B7MP-R800 part number, 8" tube O.D., equal tee configuration, and 316L stainless steel construction.

Inspect all three sanitary connection faces for contamination, scratches, dents, deformation, or other damage that could interfere with proper gasket sealing.

Install compatible sanitary gaskets between each pair of mating connection faces. Select gasket material according to the process fluid, operating temperature, cleaning chemistry, sanitation procedures, and other system requirements.

Align connected tubing and equipment before installing and tightening the sanitary clamps. Do not use the clamps to pull misaligned piping into position.

Because of the larger 8" fitting size, properly support the main run and branch piping so equipment weight, piping weight, vibration, and other external loads are not transferred unnecessarily to the tee or sanitary joints.

After installation, inspect all three connections and verify leak-free operation under appropriate process conditions before placing the system into normal service.
