The Charman Inc SP112 threaded union is a multi-piece fitting designed to connect two compatible male-threaded piping components while providing a convenient point for future disassembly. Female NPT connections at both ends connect to the piping, while the center union connection allows the fitting to be separated without rotating the adjoining pipe.

This makes a union especially useful near valves, pumps, filters, instruments, equipment, and other components that may require periodic maintenance, replacement, inspection, or removal.

A standard threaded coupling joins two compatible male-threaded components but generally requires piping to be rotated during assembly or disassembly. A union includes a separable center connection that allows the piping connection to be opened without rotating the adjoining pipe.
