The Charman Inc SP112 reducing coupling is a straight threaded fitting with two different-size female NPT connections. It allows a larger male-threaded piping component to connect directly to a smaller male-threaded component without requiring a separate reducing bushing or additional coupling.

The first dimension identifies the larger female NPT connection and the second dimension identifies the smaller female NPT connection. For example, a 1" x 1/2" reducing coupling connects a 1" male NPT component to a 1/2" male NPT component.

Reducing coupling sizes are listed with the larger connection first and the smaller connection second. Both sides are female NPT connections.

For example, a 2" x 1-1/2" reducing coupling accepts a 2" male NPT component on the larger side and a 1-1/2" male NPT component on the reduced side.

A reducing coupling has female NPT connections on both ends and joins two differently sized male-threaded components. A hex bushing uses a larger male NPT connection and a smaller female NPT connection.

Select a reducing coupling when both mating components have male threads and a straight female-to-female size transition is required.
