Description

304 Stainless Steel Butt Weld Concentric Reducer - Sch 40

304/L stainless steel Schedule 40S butt weld concentric reducers provide a smooth, centered transition between different pipe sizes. Manufactured from ASTM A/SA403 WP304/L stainless steel, these fittings offer dependable corrosion resistance, strength, and weldability for industrial and commercial piping systems.

The concentric design keeps the centerlines of the connected pipes aligned, supporting a balanced flow transition while reducing turbulence and pressure loss. Available size combinations range from 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch through 10 inch by 8 inch.

Key Features

  • Concentric reducer with aligned inlet and outlet centerlines
  • Schedule 40S wall thickness
  • ASTM A/SA403 WP304/L stainless steel construction
  • Manufactured to ASME B16.9 dimensional standards
  • Butt weld ends provide strong, permanent piping connections
  • Smooth tapered profile supports efficient flow transition
  • Dual-grade 304/L material provides corrosion resistance and weldability
  • Available in multiple reducing size combinations from 3/4" x 1/2" through 10" x 8"

Construction Details

Manufactured from dual-certified WP304/L stainless steel, combining the general corrosion resistance of Type 304 with the lower carbon content and improved weldability of Type 304L.

The symmetrical tapered body maintains a common centerline between the larger and smaller pipe ends for an even reduction in diameter.

Each reducer is formed to ASME B16.9 dimensions for accurate fit-up with corresponding Schedule 40S stainless steel pipe.

Important Notes

Confirm both nominal pipe sizes and the corresponding Schedule 40S wall thicknesses before installation.

Butt weld fittings require proper end preparation and qualified welding procedures to maintain joint integrity and corrosion resistance.

Pressure and temperature ratings depend on the complete piping system design, applicable code, joining method, and operating conditions.
