Use the GetPipe Flange Bolting Assistant below. Select your flange application and we will calculate the recommended stud length and total quantity, then help select them in the product options above.
+Flange Bolting AssistantFind the Correct 1-1/4″ Stud Length & Quantity for Your FlangeOpen this tool to calculate the recommended length and total quantity.
Select the pressure class, nominal flange size, facing, flange type, and number of flange connections. We will identify the recommended 1-1/4″ Plain Finish B7 stud length, GetPipe SKU, studs per connection, and total quantity required.
1-1/4″ Stud Application Range The standard Class 150 application shown here is the 24″ flange. Class 300 applications include 16″, 18″, and 20″. Class 600 applications using 1-1/4″ studs include 10″ and 12″.

Need a Larger Stud Diameter?
The standard 1-1/4″ stud applications shown here cover the 24″ Class 150 flange, 16″ through 20″ Class 300 flanges, and 10″ and 12″ Class 600 flanges.
Applications outside those ranges may require another B7 stud diameter. A standard 24″ Class 300 flange moves to a 1-1/2″ diameter B7 stud. For Class 600, a 14″ flange moves to a larger stud diameter. A longer 1-1/4″ stud is not a substitute for the required larger diameter.
Selection Note: The lengths provided by this tool are standard raised-face reference lengths for the listed flange size and pressure class. Always verify the complete bolted joint when flange thickness, flat-face construction, blind flanges, gasket thickness, washers, insulating kits, valves, wafer equipment, or other components may change the required stud length.

Why Choose Blue PTFE-Coated B7 Studs?
ASTM A193 Grade B7 is commonly used for high-strength flange bolting in industrial pressure piping systems. The blue PTFE coating provides a low-friction protective surface that can help reduce galling during installation, provide additional corrosion protection, and make future disassembly easier than comparable plain-finish bolting.
Frequently Asked Questions
+ What flange sizes use a 1-1/4″ B7 stud?
For the standard applications covered by this selector, a 24″ Class 150 flange uses 1-1/4″ diameter studs. Class 300 applications include 16″, 18″, and 20″. Class 600 applications include 10″ and 12″.
+ How do I know which 1-1/4″ stud length I need?
Use the GetPipe Flange Bolting Assistant near the top of this page. Select your pressure class, nominal flange size, flange facing, flange type, and number of connections. The assistant will provide the recommended stud length, GetPipe SKU, studs per connection, and total quantity required.
+ What flange types can I use with these B7 studs?
B7 studs are commonly used with industrial flange connections including weld-neck, slip-on, threaded, socket-weld, lap-joint, and blind flanges . The required stud diameter is determined by flange size and pressure class, while the required stud length depends on the complete bolted joint.
+ Can I use these studs with weld-neck flanges?
Yes. ASTM A193 Grade B7 studs with ASTM A194 Grade 2H nuts are commonly used in bolted weld-neck flange connections. Use the sizing assistant to identify the applicable stud diameter and standard reference length.
+ Can I use these studs with slip-on flanges?
Yes. These B7 studs are commonly used with bolted slip-on flange connections. Verify the entire joint thickness when selecting stud length, especially when the connection includes non-standard gasket thickness, washers, insulating kits, or other components.
+ Can I use these studs with blind flanges?
Yes, but blind flange thickness can affect the required stud length. The sizing assistant identifies standard reference bolting, but the complete joint thickness should be checked before ordering studs for a blind-flange connection.
+ Can I use these studs on raised-face flanges?
Yes. The stud lengths displayed by the GetPipe sizing assistant are standard raised-face reference lengths for the listed flange sizes and pressure classes.
+ Can I use these studs on flat-face flanges?
The stud diameter may be correct for the selected flange size and pressure class, but verify the complete bolted joint thickness before selecting the stud length. Flat-face flange construction can differ from the raised-face reference length shown by the selector.
+ How many 1-1/4″ B7 studs do I need?
The required quantity depends on flange size and pressure class. The 1-1/4″ applications shown here require 16, 20, or 24 studs per flange connection. Use the + or − buttons to enter the number of complete flange connections and the GetPipe assistant will calculate the total quantity automatically.
+ What if my flange requires a stud larger than 1-1/4″?
Move to the larger stud diameter specified for the flange. For example, a standard 24″ Class 300 flange uses 1-1/2″ diameter studs. Using a longer 1-1/4″ stud does not replace the required larger diameter.
+ Do these B7 studs include nuts?
Yes. These studs are supplied with ASTM A194 Grade 2H heavy hex nuts.
+ Why use blue PTFE-coated B7 studs?
Blue PTFE coating provides additional corrosion protection and a lower-friction surface that can help reduce galling during assembly. The coating can also make future disassembly easier than comparable plain-finish bolting.
