Expanding Leakproof Thread Sealant
Built for threaded and flanged connections where a dependable seal matters. Bring the right preparation to the job—and put the compound to work.
A good joint starts here.
Mix.
Use about five parts powder to one part clean water. Blend in a clean container to a thick, creamy paste.
Apply.
Remove debris and cutting oil from threads. Coat the first four male threads, then assemble the connection.
Set.
Typical setting time is 24 hours under normal conditions. Keep the outside collar of compound as a setting indicator.

Is X-Pando ready to use straight from the can?
No. Mix the dry powder with clean water before application. Do not add water to revive an existing batch; prepare a fresh mix instead.
Can a sealed joint be taken apart later?
Yes. The manufacturer describes applying wrench pressure while tapping around the fitting to break the expansion bond. Removal takes more effort than with some other sealants.
Is it suitable for drinking-water systems?
The manufacturer lists NSF/ANSI 61 certification for drinking water and NSF/ANSI 372 for lead content. Confirm suitability for the complete piping system and intended conditions.
