ARGCO’s Model 501 U-Bolt Mechanical Tee is a versatile outlet fitting designed to provide a direct branch connection to existing piping systems without the need for welding. Ideal for use with sprinkler heads, drop nipples, and gauges, it simplifies installation by allowing a hole to be cut or drilled at the desired outlet location.
The locating collar ensures proper positioning within the pipe opening, while the U-bolt and nut assembly provides a secure, rigid connection. This design allows for full bore flow and reliable performance in fire protection and general service piping systems.

Construction Details
Manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 for strength and durability. The standard coating is hot dipped galvanized, with optional orange enamel available.
Includes a Grade E EPDM (Type A) gasket for reliable sealing. Standard carbon steel bolts and nuts are zinc electroplated, with optional stainless steel hardware available for enhanced corrosion resistance.
Important Notes
Installation requires cutting or drilling a hole in the pipe to the specified diameter (typically 1-3/16"). Ensure proper alignment of the locating collar within the hole before tightening the U-bolt assembly. Follow recommended torque values and ARGCO installation guidelines for optimal performance.
