Standard Flexible Grooved Coupling

ARGCO’s Model 104 Standard Flexible Grooved Coupling is engineered to join carbon steel pipe while allowing controlled flexibility within piping systems. Its design accommodates axial displacement, angular deflection, and vibration, helping reduce stress caused by thermal expansion, contraction, and seismic activity.

Available in sizes from 1" through 12", Model 104 supports working pressures up to 300 psi and is compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe. The coupling is UL, ULC, and FM listed for use in fire protection, water supply, and general process piping systems.

Typical Applications

Ideal for fire protection systems, water supply lines, and industrial process piping where movement, vibration, or seismic protection is required. Flexible couplings are commonly specified in sprinkler systems to accommodate movement and prevent damage during seismic events.

Construction Details

Housing segments are manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12. Standard coating is orange enamel, with optional hot dipped galvanizing available for corrosion resistance.

The standard gasket is Grade E EPDM (Type A), suitable for hot and cold water and oil-free air service within rated temperature ranges.

Hardware consists of carbon steel oval neck track bolts and hex nuts, zinc electroplated per ASTM standards.
