Description
Grooved End Cap / End Cap with Hole
ARGCO’s Model 005 Grooved End Cap and Model 005H End Cap with Hole are rigid grooved fittings designed to terminate piping runs or create transition points within grooved piping systems. Both models are intended for use with carbon steel pipe and provide a secure connection that restricts axial and angular movement.
Model 005H is especially useful when a large reduction is required, such as 6" x 1" or 4" x 1", and can serve as an economical alternative to more expensive swaged nipples. These fittings are well suited for fire protection and general service piping applications.
Key Features
- Available as solid grooved end cap (Model 005) or end cap with hole (Model 005H)
- Model 005H provides an efficient transition where large reductions are required
- Rigid grooved connection restricts axial and angular movement
- Maximum working pressure up to 300 psi (20 bar)
- Compatible with Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe
- Ductile iron construction per ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12
- Standard orange enamel coating
- Optional hot dipped galvanized finish available
- UL, ULC, and FM listed/approved
Typical Applications
Used to cap the end of grooved piping systems or to create a reduction point when paired with the hole configuration of Model 005H. Common applications include fire protection piping, sprinkler systems, and general service piping where a compact, rigid end closure or transition fitting is needed.
Construction Details
Manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 for durability and dependable performance. The standard finish is orange enamel, with optional hot dipped galvanizing available for improved corrosion resistance.
These fittings are designed for use with standard grooved carbon steel pipe and provide a rigid joint in systems where movement restriction and reliable sealing are important.
Important Notes
Working pressure ratings are based on standard weight (ANSI) steel pipe grooved in accordance with ARGCO specifications. All products should be installed in accordance with current ARGCO installation and assembly instructions. Always verify suitability for the intended application and applicable codes before installation.
