Weldbend Pricing Update - June 2025
Dear Weldbend Customers,
We have been receiving multiple calls a day asking about what we plan to do with our current pricing. The increase of the Steel 232 tariffs to 50%, combined with the worldwide reciprocal tariffs not only affect both the domestic and offshore raw material we purchase, but they continue to impact various other costs associated with domestic manufacturing our carbon steel fittings & flanges. We agree that a price increase will unfortunately very likely be necessary. However, we want to have a better understanding of how the latest changes will affect Weldbend’s manufacturing costs.
As you know, seamless pipe products over 10" require pipe that must be sourced from outside the United State. This has been the case since U.S. Steel shut down its large diameter mill during COVID, and to date they have not reopened this mill. We have reached out to U.S. Steel to see if the recent investment by Nippon Steel will change anything, but we have not received clear answers yet.
We are doing our best to look out for our valued customers, and we believe that a stable price in an unstable environment benefits our customers and end-users. We are also very aware that Weldbend competes daily against imported material, where their only selling tool is a lower price. We are confident that no fitting or flange manufacturer over the years has invested or continues to invest in new automated equipment with new technology more than Weldbend. Unquestionably, these investments make our quality products with the traceability and high fill rates our customers have come to expect from Weldbend - all while keeping our costs as low as possible.
As soon as we fully understand how the recent tariff changes will specifically impact our costs, we will let you know what our intentions are.
