Description
Pro-Flex Pro-Poly Underground Compression Reducing Coupler
Pro-Flex Pro-Poly Underground Compression Reducing Couplers are designed to connect two different sizes of polyethylene gas pipe within compatible underground gas distribution systems. These reducing couplers provide a transition between CTS and IPS pipe or between different IPS pipe sizes, depending on the selected configuration.
Available configurations range from 3/4" IPS x 1/2" CTS through 2" IPS x 1-1/4" IPS. Select the reducing coupler that matches both polyethylene pipe sizes, sizing systems, and applicable SDR requirements.

CTS & IPS Transitions
Selected configurations provide a transition between IPS and CTS polyethylene pipe, while other configurations reduce between two IPS pipe sizes.
Because CTS and IPS use different dimensional systems, select the fitting according to the complete pipe-size designation rather than nominal size alone.
Selecting the Correct Reducing Coupler
Match both ends of the reducing coupler to the polyethylene gas pipe being connected. Confirm the nominal pipe size, CTS or IPS sizing system, and SDR where applicable before ordering.
For IPS connections identified as SDR 11, confirm that the polyethylene gas pipe is the corresponding SDR 11 configuration.
Underground Compression Gas Piping
These reducing couplers are intended as components of compatible Pro-Flex Pro-Poly underground gas distribution systems. Proper fitting selection is required to maintain compatibility between the different polyethylene pipe sizes being joined.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an underground compression reducing coupler?
A reducing coupler connects two different sizes of compatible polyethylene gas pipe.
Are CTS-to-IPS configurations available?
Yes. This listing includes 3/4" IPS x 1/2" CTS and 1" IPS SDR 11 x 1/2" CTS configurations.
Are IPS-to-IPS reducing couplers available?
Yes. This listing includes multiple IPS-to-IPS reducing configurations.
Which fitting reduces 1" IPS to 3/4" IPS?
PERCP2-DC-C is the 1" IPS SDR 11 x 3/4" IPS SDR 11 reducing coupler.
Which fitting reduces 1-1/4" IPS to 1" IPS?
PERCP2-ED-C is the 1-1/4" IPS SDR 11 x 1" IPS SDR 11 reducing coupler.
Which 2" reducing configurations are available?
This listing includes 2" IPS SDR 11 x 1-1/4" IPS SDR 11 and 2" IPS SDR 11 x 1" IPS SDR 11 configurations.
Why is CTS or IPS important?
CTS and IPS use different dimensional standards. The fitting must match the sizing system and dimensions of the polyethylene gas pipe being connected.
Does SDR need to match?
Where an IPS connection is specified as SDR 11, confirm that the corresponding polyethylene pipe is compatible with that SDR configuration before ordering.
Important Ordering Notes
- Confirm both pipe sizes before ordering.
- Confirm whether each connection is CTS or IPS.
- Confirm SDR compatibility where applicable.
- Do not select a fitting based on nominal pipe size alone when transitioning between CTS and IPS.
- Follow current Pro-Flex installation requirements and applicable local codes.
