Description

Stainless Steel Center-Guided Silent Wafer Check Valve - Class 150/300

Titan Flow Control CV91-SSM stainless steel center-guided silent check valves provide spring-assisted, low-cracking-pressure backflow prevention designed for quiet operation, minimal head loss, and rapid closure to help reduce water hammer.

Select the required nominal size above. The selected variation determines the Titan part code, online selling price, shipping weight, net cost, and size-specific pressure-class capability.

How a Silent Check Valve Works

The spring-loaded, center-guided disc opens with forward flow and begins closing as flow velocity approaches zero. Titan's design establishes positive shutoff before significant flow reversal develops, helping reduce slamming, pressure surge, and water hammer. The low cracking pressure and large internal flow area are designed to reduce the energy required to open the valve and minimize head loss.

Dual-Pressure Service

Sizes 2" through 6" use Titan's scalloped-body design and are suitable for both ASME Class 150 and Class 300 service within the published pressure-temperature limits. Sizes 8" through 12" are Class 150 only. Always confirm the selected valve size, mating flanges, and system pressure before installation.

Common Applications

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the CV91-SSM a silent check valve?

The spring-assisted center-guided disc closes near zero flow velocity, helping establish shutoff before significant reverse flow develops and reducing valve slam and water hammer.

Is every size Class 300?

No. Sizes 2" through 6" provide Class 150/300 dual-pressure service. Sizes 8" through 12" are Class 150 only.

What is the Class 150 pressure rating?

Titan publishes 275 psi WOG non-shock at 100°F for sizes 2" through 12".

What is the Class 300 pressure rating?

For sizes 2" through 6", Titan publishes 720 psi WOG non-shock at 100°F.

What is the standard seat?

The CV91SSM configuration uses stainless steel metal-to-metal seating. Titan literature also notes that resilient seats can be furnished by the factory.

Important Ordering Notes

  • Select the required nominal size before adding the product to your cart.
  • The selected variation determines the Titan part code, price, weight, and cost.
  • Sizes 2" through 6" and sizes 8" through 12" have different pressure-class capabilities.
  • Titan recommends liquid service not exceeding 10 ft/sec and steady-flow conditions for this model.
  • Titan does not recommend this valve for steam service, flow media containing solids, or reciprocating-pump/compressor shock-load applications.
  • Confirm mating flange standard, pressure class, gasket, bolting, flow direction, and installation clearance before use.
  • 10" and 12" exceed GetPipe's 105-lb parcel threshold and are treated as freight items.
