Choose the Correct Fit
Identify conductor metal and size before cutting. Stay within 2/0 copper or 4/0 aluminum capacity.
De-energize and verify the cable before placing it in the jaws. Confirm the work area is clear of other conductors.
Installation & Care
Support the cable and make a controlled, square cut with the handles clear. Do not use a pipe extension for additional leverage.
Inspect the edge for chips and clean the head after use. Select a different cutter for material the tool does not expressly cover.

Important Product Questions
Can I cut ACSR, steel cable or armored cable?
The stated applications are copper and aluminum cable. Do not extend those ratings to a steel core, armor or wire rope; use a cutter expressly rated for that construction.
Why is the aluminum capacity larger than copper?
Each metal has its own stated limit. Choose by the actual conductor metal and size rather than assuming one maximum applies to every cable.
Do comfort grips make live-cable cutting safe?
No. De-energize and verify the cable. Handle comfort is not an electrical-insulation rating or an approved energized-work procedure.
