Description

Midland Mini Ball Valve w/ Screwdriver Top & Viton Seal (M x F)

Midland Mini Ball Valves with Screwdriver Tops and Viton® Seals provide compact quarter-turn shutoff for plumbing, instrumentation, pneumatic, OEM, and other fluid handling applications where installation and operating space is limited.

Manufactured from forged brass, these valves feature a male NPT connection on one end and a female NPT connection on the other. The recessed screwdriver-operated actuator eliminates the need for a conventional handle, while the Viton® seal provides enhanced resistance to many chemicals, oils, fuels, and elevated-temperature applications when properly selected for the service media.

Product Highlights

  • Midland compact mini ball valve

Male NPT Connection

The male threaded end installs directly into a compatible female NPT port or fitting, helping minimize the number of adapters required.

Female NPT Connection

The opposite end accepts a compatible male NPT pipe, nipple, fitting, or equipment connection for convenient inline installation.

Screwdriver Top

A recessed slot allows the valve to be opened or closed with a standard flat-blade screwdriver without requiring clearance for a protruding handle.

Construction Details

The forged brass body provides a durable, compact housing for dependable service in compatible fluid handling systems.

The recessed screwdriver-operated stem provides positive quarter-turn operation while keeping the overall valve profile low, making the valve particularly useful inside equipment, panels, manifolds, and other confined installations.

Male and female NPT threaded ends provide a convenient transition between compatible threaded components without requiring the same connection style on both sides of the valve.

Viton® Seal

Enhanced Media Resistance

  • Viton® sealing material
  • Good resistance to many oils and fuels
  • Suitable for many chemical applications
  • Designed for demanding fluid service
  • Media compatibility should always be verified

Compact Shutoff Design

Frequently Asked Questions

What connections does this valve have?

The valve uses a male NPT connection on one end and a female NPT connection on the other, commonly identified as M x F.

How is the valve opened and closed?

The valve has a recessed screwdriver-slot actuator that can be rotated approximately 90 degrees with a standard flat-blade screwdriver.

Why use a screwdriver-operated valve?

The screwdriver top eliminates the space required for a conventional lever or flag handle, making the valve useful in tight or enclosed installations.

What material is the valve body?

The supplied product information identifies forged brass body construction.

What seal material does this valve use?

This model uses a Viton® seal for enhanced resistance to many chemicals and elevated-temperature applications compared with some general-purpose elastomers.

Can this valve be used with chemicals?

Viton® offers compatibility with many chemicals, oils, and fuels, but compatibility depends on the specific media, concentration, pressure, and temperature. Verify suitability for the intended application before installation.

Is this a quarter-turn valve?

Yes. The screwdriver-operated actuator provides quarter-turn operation between the open and closed positions.

What should I verify before ordering?

Confirm the required valve size, M x F NPT connection configuration, seal compatibility, system pressure, operating temperature, and intended service media.

Important Ordering & Installation Notes

  • This listing is for Midland Mini Ball Valves with screwdriver tops, Viton® seals, and M x F connections.
  • Confirm the required nominal connection size before ordering.
  • One end is male NPT and the opposite end is female NPT.
  • The valve is operated using a compatible flat-blade screwdriver.
  • Do not use excessive force when operating the screwdriver-slot actuator.
  • Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape where permitted for NPT connections.
  • Apply installation torque to the appropriate wrenching surfaces rather than the actuator.
  • Verify forged brass is compatible with the intended service media.
  • Confirm Viton® compatibility with the specific fluid or gas being handled.
  • Verify operating pressure and temperature requirements before installation.
  • Support connected piping to prevent excessive mechanical load on the valve.
  • Check threaded connections for leakage after installation.
  • Fully isolate and depressurize the system before servicing or replacing the valve.
  • Follow applicable piping requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
