CC Copper Sweat Connections

CC copper sweat connections allow the valve to be joined directly to compatible copper tube using an appropriate soldering process. Both valve ends are designed for sweat installation, eliminating the need for threaded adapters at the valve connections.

Swing Check Valve Design

A swing check valve is designed to permit flow in one direction while helping prevent reverse flow. Forward flow swings the internal solid metal disc away from the valve seat, creating a flow path through the valve.

When forward flow stops or begins to reverse, the disc swings back toward the seat to restrict backflow through the piping system.

Automatic Check Valve Operation

The valve operates automatically in response to system flow and does not require a handwheel, lever, or external actuator. Proper installation orientation and operating conditions should be confirmed for the intended piping system.

Common Applications

Plumbing & Water Systems

  • Copper water piping
  • Commercial plumbing systems
  • Water distribution systems
  • Backflow prevention applications

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CC mean on this swing check valve?

CC identifies the copper sweat connection configuration used on both ends of the valve for installation with compatible copper tube.

What type of connections does this valve have?

This product uses copper sweat x copper sweat connections.

How does a swing check valve work?

Forward flow pushes the internal disc away from the valve seat. When flow stops or reverses, the disc swings back toward the seat to help prevent reverse flow through the piping system.

Does this valve require manual operation?

No. The swing check mechanism operates automatically in response to system flow and does not require a handwheel, lever, or actuator for normal operation.

Is this the same valve as the IPS threaded version?

No. This product is the CC copper sweat version. Charman's IPS swing check valves use female threaded connections and are offered as a separate product family.

What is the pressure rating?

The supplied Charman manufacturer literature specifies a 200 WOG pressure rating for this swing check valve series.

What sizes are available?

This CC copper sweat swing check valve family is available in 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" nominal sizes. Select the required size from the product options above.

Important Ordering Notes

  • Select the required nominal size before adding the product to your cart.
  • This product uses CC copper sweat connections on both ends.
  • Do not confuse this valve with the separate Charman IPS threaded swing check valve.
  • The selected variation determines the Charman part number, selling price, estimated shipping weight, and net cost.
  • Verify nominal valve size and copper connection compatibility before ordering.
  • Confirm pressure, temperature, media compatibility, installation orientation, soldering procedure, and applicable system requirements before use.
  • Product appearance and casting markings may vary by size or production run.
